Calling all volunteers
From preparing the courts in May to the end-of-season shutdown, from organizing social events to working tournaments there are many opportunities to help St. George’s. The Club is currently looking for the following volunteer positions:
Social Media Coordinator. The Social Media Coordinator organizes and publishes posts to promote the club. The Coordinator works with the Board to ensures we regularly post content with relevant tags and hashtags. They are also responsible for engaging with our partner organizations by liking, sharing, and commenting on their posts.
Website Coordinator. The Website Coordinator helps the Board by keeping content up to date. Key responsibilities include working with the Web Master to ensure the calendar, news, and content is current and accurate. No HTML background is required, but strong technical and writing skills are an asset.
Club Photographer. The Club Photographer attends various social events and tournaments to capture images of members and guests at the Club. Key responsibilities include acquiring and Model Release information and documenting file names and metadata with appropriate information. The photogrpaher’s work will be shared with our Historical Committee as well as the Social Media Coordinator. Formal training is not required, rather we are looking for a commitment to attend most events.
Grounds Crew. We mow the lawn and maintain the grounds weekly. Responsibilities for this position include on- and off-property mowing, trimming bushes, and “weed-whacking” along the perimeter of the property.
Court repair and maintenance. Court maintenance is an all-season job requiring maintenance and preparing responsibilities. Working with staff, hosts, and a team leader, we require help at regularly scheduled intervals and in a moment’s notice.
End and Start of Season. Twice a year, every year, we require help preparing the courts, nets, and lines, as well as help taking up the lines and putting everything away for another year. Interested in working? We can always use an extra hand. While taking down the courts involves less experience, we are keen to know if you have helped with a season’s start-up for Har-Tru Courts and are willing to do so again.
Anything else? Do you have a special skill that would prove helpful for this volunteer organization? Architect, graphic designer, financial planner, fundraiser? Please do let us know!
