Renovation Project Update

Progress to minimum goal of $125,000.

The progress amount does not include committed pledges which will be recognized when received.

Progress   $96,600

The waterline project was successfully completed in April and marks a major milestone in our renovation plans. Not only was it an essential step ahead of court resurfacing, but it also significantly improves water pressure in both bathrooms, the kitchen, and the water fountain. A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers whose efforts helped bring the project in under budget. We now shift our focus to Phase II: full court resurfacing and fence replacement. This next stage will rely heavily on fundraising, and we continue to seek member contributions, government grants, and creative funding opportunities to make it a reality.

Click the link at the top of this page to view all aspects of this project. Donations can be made through this link and tax receipts are available.

We encourage all members to support your club. Large and small donations appreciated as we still have lots of work and fundraising ahead. If you have made a donation, Thank you.

Sincerely ,

St George's Board of Directors,  Project Committee and Fundraising Committee

Introducing our head coach for 2025

Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently.

—Satyam Verma, Head Coach, St. George’s Tennis Club

Back for Another Amazing Season!

We’re thrilled to kick off the 2025 season by welcoming Satyam Verma as our Head Coach at St. George’s Club!

Satyam returns with a wealth of experience and passion for the sport. A certified Club Professional 2 with over 5 years of coaching under his belt, Satyam’s tennis journey began at the age of 8 in India and has taken him all the way to Halifax, where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University.

A nationally ranked junior in India, Satyam continued his success in Canada, captaining the SMU Tennis Team for three years. Under his leadership, the team made history in 2020 by becoming Provincial Champions and qualifying for Nationals at the Rogers Cup in Toronto for the first time.

Currently, he’s the Adult Program Coordinator at Sobey’s Atlantic Tennis Centre and plays a key role in leading Junior High-Performance Programs. His dedication, energy, and love for teaching shine through every time he steps on the court.

Satyam credits his passion for helping players improve as the driving force behind his coaching journey, and he’s ready to bring that energy to our courts this season. Let’s give him a warm welcome as we gear up for another exciting year at St. George’s!
